Neuralgia Symptoms and Treatment

Neuralgia is a chronic pain disorder affecting the nerves. It transmits pain sensations to the brain, even though there may be no physical reason (such as an injury) for them to do so. While sometimes neuralgia can be caused by a physical issue, such as a tumor or swollen blood vessel putting pressure on the nerve itself, very often the causes are undetermined. Without a clear indication of what is causing the issues, it’s very hard to fix. But Ultram can help manage the symptoms.

Ultram is a drug that relieves this condition by acting on the parts of the brain that receive those messages from the nerves. It is intended specifically to take for long-term chronic pain management.

Many other diseases can bring about neuralgia as a secondary complication, too. Lyme disease, shingles, syphilis, lupus, even diabetes can all include nerve pain along with a multitude of other symptoms. These effects usually linger for weeks or months, and are often lifelong. In a permanent scenario such as this, quality of life can be improved drastically by a drug regimen designed for regular use.

The effects themselves are debilitating. The body can feel even gentle touches as extremely hurtful. Attacks can be intermittent or continual, stabbing or a dull ache. Even typical daily routines can be a catalyst; doing simple things like brushing teeth, eating, drinking, even shaving can be agonizing.

Other times, a touch isn’t necessary at all to bring it on. Sights or sounds can cause the nerves to react this way, or basic movement. When the causes are unpredictable, an analgesic that is taken daily instead of occasionally could make all the difference.

No one can avoid developing neuralgia, but at least by working closely with your doctor, a pain management routine can be developed to get your life back. Please discuss with your doctor whether Ultram might be right for you.
